Dr Gerry Naughtin


Dr Gerry Naughtin is the Chief Executive of Mind Australia and has an extensive background in human service management, research and the delivery of disability, mental health and aged care services. He has held senior management positions in government and CEO positions in the commercial and not for profit sectors.

Dr Naughtin has extensive knowledge of the Australian mental health, aged care and disability sectors.

Dr Naughtin has completed a PhD on elder abuse and was appointed Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at LaTrobe University.  Earlier career positions also include Associate Professor retirement and ageing at the Brotherhood of St Laurence and La Trobe University, and founding Chief Executive of Silver Circle Home Support Services.

Dr Naughtin was a member of the first IAC from 2013-2017, and was reappointed for a second term in July 2017.

Dr Naughtin resigned as a member of the IAC from 31 December 2017. He took a role as Mental Health Adviser to the NDIA in February 2018.
