Mr James Manders


Mr James Manders is a former Investment Banker with over 21 years of experience in the global financial markets. He held leadership roles in global Investment Banks on 4 continents and has broad experience across the finance industry. He currently sits on a number of Advisory and Company Boards and as an Independent Director overseas with focus on governance, regulatory investment matters.

From an early age, Mr Manders has championed Diversity and Inclusion issues in organisations and society. Having experienced a hearing impairment since birth and a gradual loss of vision during his working life, he has a unique perspective on how society embraces the challenge of tolerance and acceptance. He has looked through the prism of these critical issues from both the outside and within. His lived experience has encompassed both the emerging and transformational aspects of Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace and in his personal life. 

Mr Manders has leveraged his position in the financial services industry overseas and in Australia, to advocate and increase awareness of the needs of people with disability and to be active in their employment options. Mr Manders is a member of the Board for Retina Australia ACT, member of ACT Brumbies Commercial Services Advisory Group, member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of the Disability Advisory Council for Elections ACT where he contributed to their election initiatives of ensuring access to all disability and non-English speaking voters. He is currently undertaking an MBA at the University of Canberra.
