Ms. Danielle Loizou-Lake


Ms. Danielle Loizou-Lake supports the work of the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) and its Reference Group members as their Independent Advisor. She works closely with the IAC Reference Groups to ensure their insights and lived experience are brought to the IAC and NDIA Board, helping shape policies and practices that are inclusive, rights-based, and responsive to community needs. Danielle is committed to fostering respectful, strengths-based engagement that honours the voices of people with disability.

Danielle has worked in the disability, health and mental health space since graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Health Promotion. Danielle has held leadership positions within community services and government agencies with a strong focus on systems reform, consumer engagement, and inclusive service design. She founded a successful disability service organisation in 2019 and has also consulted widely with government and community organisations on the disability health interface. She maintains a casual teaching role with the University of Western Australia for the School of Allied Health and Medical Sciences.

As an advocate, her work includes contributions to state and national health and disability reform and international forums, including the United Nations, with a focus on advancing health outcomes for people with disability.  Alongside her professional work, Danielle is a para-equestrian athlete on the Equestrian Australia National High-Performance Team. She will compete at the 2025 National Championships in Victoria and is pursuing international competition with her horse BML Jack Sparrow.
