Ms Leah van Poppel
Ms Leah van Poppel is a long term advocate in the disability sector with extensive experience in project and staff management at a high level.
From September 2018, Ms van Poppel has been appointed CEO of Women with Disabilities Victoria, working to advance real social and economic inclusion for women with disabilities in this State.
Ms van Poppel was previously Manager of the Youth Disability Advocacy Service at Youth Affairs Council of Victoria, CEO of Blind Citizens Australia, an NDIS Readiness Coordinator and managed the Disability Loop Project for the national peak body, Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO).
With a background in policy development in the not for profit sector, particularly in disability advocacy at a national level, Ms van Poppel has also worked for the Victorian State Government providing information and referrals for people with disability, families and service providers in country and metropolitan Victoria.
Ms van Poppel has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Macquarie University, NSW.
